Heading to Nottoway

Yesterday we had another surprise. It would appear that the arrangement we have (or thought we had) for a mortgage is a little shaky. Apparently the number of "investors" for this type of mortgage are less in number than when we began this process several weeks ago. According to our mortgage broker, there is "only one left." I thought we were working on a USDA mortgage... not sure what private investors have to do with that but, the bottom line is that we have to get a signed contract to her ASAP so she can apply for this mortgage.

The hold up continues to be the survey. We spoke with the seller and she said that the survey was completed and the surveyor told her that he just had to do a little bit more "calculation." We need to know precisely how many acres we are talking about so that we can put it into the contract.

The sellers have been just great. A real joy to work with! However, it has become obvious to us that I need to be on site to make decisions on where to locate the new HVAC equipment and to move things along so that we can close the deal in a timely manner. So, I'll be heading to Nottoway for a temporary visit a bit sooner than we had originally planned (BIG SMILE!).

I'll have my laptop, phone and all the other tools necessary for me to continue working at my day job. It will be fun to working from HOME, if only for a few weeks.

Thanks for tracking with us!
